The Ocean Is Missing Its Rivers. For billions of years, rivers connected continents to the sea. Then we came along. In a rhythm that’s pulsed through epochs, a river’s plume carries sediment and nutrients from the continental interior into the ocean, a major exchange of resources from land to sea. More than 6,000 rivers worldwide surge freshwater into oceans, delivering nutrients, including nitrogen and phosphorus, that feed phytoplankton, generating a bloom of life that in turn feeds progressively larger creatures. They may even influence ocean currents in ways researchers are just starting to understand. But today, in rivers around the world, humans are altering this critical phenomenon.

The Blank Slate Theory – Which utterly denies the existence of human nature and biology.
Its horrible consequences have been in the form of Stalins, Mao’s and Ayatollahs.

Dear Friends,
The theater or stage for the play of language is human brain.
Players are human beings, not in isolation but in company of each other.
The science of language ( Linguistics ) and the science of brain ( neurology ) have a romantic relationship which gives birth to a few dozen rules of grammar, about six thousand languages across the globe, a dictionary of approximately 50 thousand words in the mind of an educated adult and Infinite number of unique sentences.
This marriage gets dents and jolts in brain diseases.

Dear Friends,
Eclipses have always fascinated me. To watch a Total Solar Eclipse has been an ardent desire.
Now that opportunity has arrived.
I will be flying thousands of miles in four hours from one end of Canada to the other. From Victoria, BC, to Niagara Falls in Ontario to have a “once in a life time experience”of TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE, ( clouds permitting).
We hardly pay much attention to cloud conditions in weather forecasts, but for last few days, I have been anxiously following.
Clouds may create an anticlimax for millions of viewers thronging on the banks of majestic falls.
Come what may, I and my Samadhi ji Professor Mahendra Kotha ji have taken the plunge.

Skin is a wonderful organ.
It defines us, protects us, creates our identity, keeps us cool and aids in expression of emotions.
Colours of skin come in myriad beautiful shades but human fallacy to think in terms of binaries only, perpetuates the two categories of Black and White only.
The science of skin colour, its evolution and to and from changes over millions of years are a compelling story.
And so is the more recent but sad and disgusting saga of Colorism and its dirty cousins Racism and Eugenics over last 2-3 centuries.
